In Photoshop, you can use the Magic Wand or Lasso to cut out part of an image or photo, but this can be rather ineffective when trying to pick out fine details.

Neither offer professionals a high degree of control, which is why Vertus Fluid Mask was made. Vertus Fluid Mask allows you to detect even the most subtle of edges in a photo or image allowing you to cut away segments with very high accuracy. It not only detects edges, but can even work with just colors and extract those areas of a particular pigmentation.

One area Vertus Fluid Mask particularly excels in is the cutting out of hair - one of the most complex actions for such a program to perform. The programs hair-blender aims to ensure that especially long, fine hair can be extracted easily. Note though, that this is a tool aimed at professionals. The interface is fairly complex and beginners are advised to stick to something simpler in this department such as Photoshop. There are, however, many well-designed tutorials online for those that are dedicated enough, and learning it shouldn't take too long.

Vertus Fluid Mask has a steep learning curve but for imaging professionals or those in need of something more power than Photoshop at extracting cut outs, it's a highly accomplished tool.
